Cymraeg Campus

What is the Cymraeg Campus Siarter Iaith?

The aim of the Welsh Language Charter is to inspire our children and young people to use their Welsh in all aspects of their lives and to take pride in the Welsh language, culture and traditions.  Over the next three years we will be working towards 3 awards; Bronze, Silver and Gold.  The Welsh Language Charter asks for a contribution from every member of the school community – the pupils, the staff, the parents, the governors and the community.

Here at Crist Y Brenin we have an enthusiastic Criw Cymraeg who feel passionate about the Welsh language – they will be instrumental in leading us in our aim to achieve the Silver Award in the coming year.

What are the advantages of the Cymraeg Campus Siarter Iaith?

Speaking two languages opens doors to a much more varied community, world of work and social life. Having two (or more!) languages means more choice!  Research shows that learning another language develops creativity, improves memory and thinking skills as well as making learning subsequent languages easier.

We are enthusiastic to work with all parents and members of our school community to raise the amount of Welsh spoken in and around our school and in our community - we would like to say diolch for your continued support.

Diolch yn fawr iawn!

Mae siarad Cymraeg yn bril,

Mae siarad dwy iaith yn sgil’

If you have any ideas or suggestions or would like to help out with our goal of achieving the Bronze Award please let us know!
