Our Visit to the Cathedral

By Megan

We went to the Cathedral. We went by train. We met a person called Canon Collins. He showed us around the Cathedral. In it we saw a statue. We saw stained glass windows, they were cool. He told us about how the Cathedral had been blown up during World War 2. The outside of the cathedral was stone it looked old. It had lots of windows. When we walked in we saw a lot of rows. We sat down on them. A lady came to talk to us a bit more about it. We asked her a lot of questions. There are shields with the Archbishop's coats of arms. The chair that the Archbishop sits on is called the cathedra, which makes the name of a cathedral. There was a plaque at the back of the cathedral it was in Latin we don’t understand Latin. The original cathedral was built in 1840. We enjoyed going there. We went to St.Davids Cathedral. We are year 5. I hope to go again. We were learning about saints and martyrs.
