The Birth Partner Project
What is the Birth Partner Project?
The Birth Partner Project is based in Cardiff, Wales. They provide volunteer birth partners to support women seeking sanctuary who would otherwise face pregnancy, birth and early motherhood alone.
This year, we have chosen to support the project. During both Advent and Lent, we asked our school families to provide nappies, wet wipes and other essential items for mothers of new babies.
In March, we were also able to visit the project and see what they do. It was a warm, welcoming and inclusive place which offered friendship, comfort and advice to women who are alone and would otherwise have nothing.
Mrs Stubley joined us for a School of Sanctuary assembly and to tell us more about the Birth Partner Project.
