9/6/22 Celebrating Year 4 Class Mass

 

Thank you to Father Andy for today’s Mass at Christ the King Church. Year 4 led the readings, singing, signing and altar serving beautifully! Thank you to Years 2 and 3 for joining us.

6/5/22 Signs of God 

Thank you to the fantastic team from Signs of God for a fantastic BSL session about the parable of the Lost sheep. We are gaining confidence with signs and in particular our names.

6/5/22 CAFOD ‘step up to the Plate’ 

After watching a poignant CAFOD assembly last week, year 4 pledged to ‘step up to the plate’.

A thought provoking CAFOD School Assembly this morning about our broken food system. Being ethical informed citizens Year 4 will Step up to the plate!

1/4/22 Easter Gardens

We collected and gathered natural resources from forest schools. We worked collaboratively to design and make Easter Gardens as we explored the steps that Jesus took during Holy Week.

19/3/22 CAFOD Walk for Hunger

Year 4 joined our whole school community this morning in a sponsored ‘CAFOD Walk for Hunger’. As a school we reached our target and raised over £300.

11/3/22 Lenten Reflection for Ukraine.

 

We made pots inspired by the Ukrainian flag and planted sunflower seeds to share with our families. We were led in a beautiful reflection by some of our classmates who had written a prayer for the people of Ukraine.

17/2/22 our first Class Mass 

Today we led our first Class Mass at Christ the King Church. Everybody in Year 4 from the welcomers, to the readers, the signers and the singers led the congregation in the theme of Community. 

4/2/22 Exploring further

After yesterday’s RE lesson we were so lucky to share some special Arabic books and discover more about the Islamic faith. 

 

3/2/21 Exploring the Qur’an

Today we were ethical, informed citizens exploring, researching and discovering all about one of the special books of Islam, the Qur’an.

13/12/21 Lighting the Advent Wreath 

Today our prayer monitors led us in our Liturgy lighting the third Advent candle of our wreath.

2/12/21 Creating Advent Wreaths

Beautiful Advent wreaths created and then presented to each class for their prayer focus. Very proud of the hard work and teamwork that went into each Advent Wreath.

Today we created beautiful Kindness Advent Calendars that will hopefully inspire us to put others first during the season of Advent 


20/11/21 Christ the King

Thank you to all those who joined us in the celebration of our school feast day of Christ the King. A very special mass in our School and Church community.

 

 

12/11/21 Liturgical Reflection

As part of today's RE Lesson we collaborated and designed a Liturgical Reflection based on the hymn 'Christ be our Light'

 

 

2/11/21 COPD Climate Change

Thank you to CAFOD School for visiting us in Year 4 today and reminding us of the importance of the stewardship of our precious earth.

 

 

14/10/21 Class Liturgy

We planned our Liturgy as groups, Year 4 pupils led in reflection, signing the Hail Mary and everyone was given individual sunflower seeds to plant reminding us of God's Love.

 

 

24/09/21 The Story of Naomi and Ruth

In today's RE lesson we used playscripts and puppets to retell the Old Testament story of Naomi and Ruth.

 

10/9/21 Jesus' Family Tree

In today's RE lesson we made peg doll versions of the members of Jesus' Family Tree.  We recognised and knew a lot about many people from the Old Testament.
