AOLE SCIENCE - we have been learning about growth and change . Look how our eggs have hatched . The chicks have grown and changed over the last few days . We are learning how to look after them .
AOLE SCIENCE AND TECH - we have also used our story book to explore what happens when we heat materials 🔨 We have been building our bears a bed! 🐻 We looked at the size of our bears from the story, and decided on the strongest material for the job 🤔 we did have some complaints from our bears though that 🐻"The beds were too hard!" We also made a new chair for baby bear 🐻.
AOLE SCIENCE AND TECH - We used our story book Goldilocks and the 3 Bears 🐻 during science week. We explored how materials can change when heated or cooled . The bread was soft squishy before we toasted it , it was hard , crunchy after toasting. We also thought baby bear 🐻 may need a new breakfast , so we made bear toast 😋😋. It went down very well in class .😆🥰.
AOLE SCIENCE AND TECH - for our Discovery concept we have been exploring our senses.We used our sense of smell to guess what was in the cups, we guessed 4 right, lemon 🍋 , chocolate 🍫 , coffee ☕️ and curry ! We didn’t guess garlic 🧄. We also explored our senses of taste, we tasted 3 different items, they were sour , sweet and cheesy !
AOLE LLC. - We visited the library on World Book Day , it was great fun sharing some of our favourite stories.
AOLE NUMERACY- We had lots of fun outside learning about positional language.
AOLE NUMERACY ACROSS THE CURRICULUM - We enjoyed our move and count lesson . Who has the most balls in the hoop. Who can fill their 10 frame first.
AOLE NUMERACY- We have been exploring less than by playing subtraction smash and using number cards .Does the total get bigger or smaller ?
AOLE NUMERACY - we have been using a large 10 frame during carpet maths to learn about less than.
AOLE HEALTH AND WELLBEING- To celebrate Belonging Week we chose a friend to decorate. We talked about all the things we love about them. We decorated a heart ❤️ to share that love with our friends.
AOLE NUMERACY- We have been exploring less than by playing subtraction smash with play dough. Do we have more or less when we take items away .
AOLE NUMERACY- we have been matching amounts using dots and numicon .
AOLE Expressive Arts - Today we focused on how Christmas colours make us feel . We then designed our tree, decorated it with stars and had a dance around the tree. Christmas colours make us feel happy, excited . We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas 🎄 🎅🌲

AOLE NUMERACY/RELIGION- we used 2D shapes to create a Nativity scene .
The Nativity Story. Reception have begun to listen to the Nativity Story. The Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary and said, "Don’t be afraid, Mary,” said the angel to her. “You’re in favour with God. 31 Listen: you will conceive in your womb and will have a son; and you shall call his name Jesus."
Mary. We have been learning about who Mary was and what she did for us all. We looked at how Mary is represented and shown in art work. We thought about how do we see Mary? Which piece of art rings true for us? Which piece of art is close to our family and culture?
AOLE NUMERACY - We have been working on numbers to 10 . We used numicon to match amounts .
AOLE HUMANITIES - we had fun sorting the recycling in to the correct bins . We must look after our common home . 🌍❤️

AOLE LLC - We are working hard to form our letters correctly using our Minster Phonic rhymes .
AOLE LLC - we have enjoyed learning our phonics , we ate crumpets for c , kicked a ball for k and wrote cvc words and initial sounds independently 🙌❤️
We listened to the story of Creation from the book of Genesis. We explored our wonderful world that God has given us and responded with what we are thankful for.

AOLE LLC - we have been enjoying learning our new Monster Phonics sounds .
AOLE NUMERACY- we have been using our subitising skills to talk about what numbers we can see .
AOLE HUMANITIES- We are being stewards for our wonderful world by collecting litter on our field.
AOLE NUMERACY - we collected leaves to help us with our sorting skills . We sorted the leaves 🍁 🌿🍂 by colour and size .
AOLE NUMERACY- We have been sorting objects into sets. Can you guess the rule for our sorting .

AOLE - Health and WellBeing - Humankind Context- we have been learning about the people in our school who keep us safe .
Parental Engagement- Some parents joined us in class , we showed them our classroom and where we have fun and learn . We also shared lots of information about Monster Phonics and numeracy in reception.
